The Art of Making and Breaking

Luna/Ginny

word count: 166

Luna had always been good at making things.

She had no greater joys, really, asides from putting things together and pulling them apart. She would see a spark then. In herself, the maker, and in the extension, the object that she had put so much of herself in.

That’s why she usually took things away, in the end.

It was too embarrassing, and when you put so much of yourself in something, you usually see the shadows as well. Shadows were beautiful---they were the part where you could use your imagination to fill in the blanks of existence.

She had never tried to make a human before.

But that was what love is.

Going against, coming towards, and falling apart and liking it. So she picked someone that she just knew would fall apart in a blaze of unfettered twilight.

And Ginny Weasley did have oh so many shadows in her eyes, and Luna imagined that she loved her.

Too bad she would have to take it all away.

*edited b/c I left out a line ;-)* Hmm.
